KU vs Texas A&M

For the 97th homecoming game at Kansas, this game could determine which coach is more on the hot seat. At the beginning of the year both Sherman and Gill both had different agendas for their respectful teams. For Sherman his Aggies were the media sleeper team that was going to rise and take control of the Big XII South division this year. For Gill it was coming in with a new attitude and being competitive in every game this year. Well to say the least neither expectations are going as planned. KU is coming off back to back humiliating defeats from Baylor, on the road, and Kansas State, at home. Lucky for Gill this is his first year on the job, and hopefully he gets more than just this year. But with a new A.D. coming in and the people of Lawrence getting restless for success who knows. On a side note, Mangino only had two winning seasons out of his eight at Kansas, so those calling for Gill’s head, calm down. Your football tradition isn’t your basketball tradition. For Sherman’s Aggies, they are coming off an embarrassing home lost against the now ranked #11 Missouri Tigers. The expectations were high this year for Texas A&M, with Jerrod Johnson being named Big XII preseason offensive player of the year, and Von Miller leading a defense that was supposed to be improved with a new coordinator. But with Johnson struggling this year, and a defense still giving up points the Aggies aren’t what they appeared to be. Kansas right now is looking to salvage their season, and to let those Jayhawk fans still know that they are still playing football. The Aggies can still manage a bowl game this year, but doubtfully win the Big XII South. A loss to the Jayhawks on Saturday although might change Mike Sherman’s plans for the following week after, he might be looking for a new job.
