This Monday night has the New York ‘football’ Giants visiting the Dallas Cowboys. I would suspect that when the NFL was doing up their schedule they had this game as a HUGE game, ratings, the whole nine yards. Well the Cowboys sit at 1-4 and the Giants are at 4-2, it is not exactly the game everyone maybe expected.
Now with that being said, there is never an easy game in the NFL and anyone reading this knows the Cowboys are better than their 1-4 record even if it goes to 1-5 after Monday night. Giants / Cowboys have a rivalry and this Monday night regardless of record is no different.
Really, these two teams on paper (outside of the huge difference in the running game for the Giants) are both very close teams. In fact the Giants have given up more points and I know yes they have played one more game than the Cowboys. I know, you don’t have to say it again….
No more excuses from this blogger to protect the Cowboys. They are beating themselves up, losing games and it comes down to their record which right now does not suffice any Cowboy fan. I will say it is win and win this Monday and every following week that is left in this years NFL season. Even if the Cowboys are not to make the playoffs this year with the Super Bowl in their stadium they can certainly play the role of the spoiler for other teams that are trying to make their way to Texas for the post-season. I am not throwing in the towel on this season yet and it is going to take the usual execution, discipline and turning yards gained into points.
The Giants are playing some of their best football with this 3-game winning streak so it is odd that I find the Cowboys as 3/3.5 point favourites. No guaranteed win this week folks and it will be interesting in which Cowboy team shows up. I do like the Cowboys providing the A-team shows up.
These two teams do not like each other so win, lose, it should be one hell of a ball game.
See ya’all Tuesday
