Seattle Seahawks Vs Arizona Cardinals Preview

In a huge divisional game between the two teams tied for first place in the NFC West the 3 – 2 Arizona Cardinals travel to Qwest field to face the 3 – 2 Seattle Seahawks on sunday. The Cardinals come into this game refreshed after having a much dissevered bye after defeating the defending Super Bowl Champions New Orleans Saints 30 – 20. They also come into the gsme having won 6 out of the 8 meetings against the Seahawks the last beeing last year’s victory in Arizona 31 – 20. However rookie QB Max Hall a undrafted free agent out of BYU will be making his second career start, and starting his first ever NFL road game. So it will be interesting to see how affective Hall will be in this hostile enviorment since the seattle crowd is arguably the loudest fans in the NFL.

The seahawks come into game on an emotional high after traveling to Chicago last week and defeating the bears 23 – 20 at Soldier field. The tandem running back duo of Marshawn Lynch and Justin Forsett had excellent games last week rushing for a combined 111 yards and two touchdowns. They could also be in for another big game against the Cardinals who are allowing 140 yards per game on the ground. QB Matt Hasselbeck had a good game last week also throwing for a season high 242 yards against a tough Chicago Bears team.

After a mediocore performance in his first start it would be interesting to see how confident Max Hall will be facing the seahawks which have the 30th ranked pass defense, giving up 290 yards per game. With the bye last week It’s possible WR Steve Breston has recovered from his knee injury and could see some playing time giving Hall a much needed offensive weapon. Since Breston has missed the last couple games it has given opponets the opportunity to focus on stopping Pro Bowl reviever Larry Fitzgerlad.

Overall I feel this should be an extremely close game. Much like the Chicago game last week the key to the game was getting pressure on Jay Cutler. Which they did by sacking him 6 times. It’s a similar situation here if the Seahawks keep sending those extra guys then it’s a excellent opportunity for a sack, but if they don’t and give Hall all kinds of time to throw and he will eventually find Fitzergerald or Breston. It’s also worth noting that the seahawks have been extremely good this year at stoping the run, however 4 out of the 5 running backs they have faced this year have all had over 40 yards or more in recieving yards, so that is something to keep an eye on.
