Messy McNabb Managed Redskins Win Against Bears

The offense was messy at best for most of the game while the defense dominated.   There were many dropped passes, interceptions (McNabb recorded 2 but would have been 3), fumbles by this offense and if it wasn’t for the defense and the poor performance by the Bears offense, this would easily have been a loss.

The first score of the game was a Bears touchdown, not by their offense, but by their defense and McNabb error.  An approaching sack and instead of McNabb going down he attempted to throw the ball, which was tipped, then run in for a TD. The Redskins did answer back immediately with their own TD.  In the second quarter, Gano connects with a FG and the Bears get an offensive TD to take the lead into the first half.

In the 3rd quarter, the footballs gods were looking over the Redskins when the Bears fumbled, Redskins ball, McNabb throws and interception which is run in for a TD for the Bears, but there was a delay of game flag against the Redskins which cannot be challenged, taking away the Bears’ points.

The Redskins ground game did get a lot of momentum with Ryan Torain, but he fumbled a couple of times.  After multiple interceptions by the Redskins, all the offense can do is a failed FG attempt.  The only score in the second half was by the defense.  They managed the win by having all of their timeouts at the end of the game and could knee each play to run out the clock.

Now let’s talk about DeAngelo Hall.  This guy gets the game ball (obviously) and will be the defensive player of the week.  He recorded 4 interceptions in the second half of the game, tying an NFL record.  The second interception was a one handed catch that he ran 92 yards.

Checkout the highlights below.

I also need to send out a quick shout out to Albert Haynesworth.  I, along with the entire NFL, have not had a positive view on this guy.  He recorded 1 sack but the play I loved was when Jay Cutler attempted to run at the goal line and Haynesworth jumped like he was on a trampoline and London Fletcher followed and knocked the ball out.  Keep it up Haynesworth!  Orakpo and McIntosh recorded the other 3 sacks on Cutler.

Here are the offensive numbers for the game.  Ryan Torain, although 2 fumbles, great game.
