MMFQ: Bigger Trouble: Phillips or Turner?

Posted By Al Buzzelli On Oct 26 2010 @ 12:13 pm In Fantasy | No Comments

For this version of Monday Morning Fantasy Quarterback, I decided…well, wait. I haven’t decided.

What I still can’t decide is whose job is in more jeopardy: Dallas’ Wade Phillips or San Diego’s Norv Turner. It makes sense to choose Phillips. His Cowboys are 1-6, just lost their franchise quarterback for probably the rest of the season (torn clavicle) and, that’s not even the scariest part. Phillips has to report to Jerry Jones — the younger, richer version of Oakland’s Al Davis. Jones has a shorter leash of coaches than Michael Vick did on his dogs. Do you really think Jones can tolerate ‘America’s Team’ being grouped in with the Detroit Lions (1-5)? Do you really think he’ll allow for any more of this losing to be played under that 100-foot catastrophe that he calls a jumbotron?

I thought it was funny when rumors were being discussed about who the next Cowboys head coach would be “if” Phillips was relieved of his duties.

John Fox?

Really?

And as for Turner’s argument, for argument’s sake? It’s hard to not always be under the microscope when you have a below .500 career coaching record.

Here’s a recap of how Week 7 went:
