Operation give Hank a rest is in full swing.
Coach John Tortorella has opted to start Martin Biron in net tonight as the Rangers face off against Evander Kane and the Atlanta Thrashers at the Garden.
Tortorella has said the goal is to give Biron three or four games a month, giving Lundqvist a good 18-20 games off. Biron had a strong debut in Toronto in the Rangers 2-1 win.
Former Ranger Nik Antopov is in the lineup tonight for Atlanta after being a healthy scratch.
Pink straps and mouthguards are being worn for Hockey Fights Cancer month.
The Rangers are 7-7-1-5 at home against Atlanta.
If the Rangers are to roll on to their fourth win, they need to continue an agressive forecheck and get offensive contributions from their youthful first line of Dubinsky-Anisimov-Callahan.
In Case You Missed It:
Brandon Prust on coming to the Rangers from his amNY NYR diary:
“I was excited about playing in a big city and also about getting to live in Manhattan. Nothing can beat the pace of this city! I live on the Upper West Side, but I find myself spending a lot time downtown. Some of my favorite spots are La Esquina (best tacos in the city), LAVO and The Eldridge, which is always a good scene.
Last week I had a friend in town and had the chance to check out my first Broadway show, ‘Jersey Boys.’ Great show; I definitely recommend seeing it.”

I'm a recent college graduate looking for a dream job covering hockey. I've been watching the New York Rangers since my grade school days of VHS and Gordon Bombay's "ducks fly together" speech. While studying journalism at Boston University (COM '10), I wrote for the Daily Free Press, the student newspaper. I worked two summers at the Staten Island Advance, my hometown newspaper, writing city news and features. I've also written CD reviews for Music-Reviewer.com. One of my favorite gigs was interning for hockey analyst extraordinaire Stan Fischler covering the Boston Bruins and attending all their home games in the 2009-2010 season. (Yes, including the crushing defeat against the Flyers in the Eastern Conference playoffs.)
