Chiefs: Take Care of Business

Posted By Vince Sapienza On Oct 28 2010 @ 7:22 pm In Kansas City Chiefs | No Comments

Take care of business. That is what the Chiefs need to do in order to gain ground and keep their playoff hopes alive. The Chiefs are unbeaten at home and coming to town are the winless Buffalo Bills. Let’s get one thing straight first, this is no roll over game, the Bills are winless which means they are due.

The Bills all but had a win last week  in boisterous Baltimore, but Ray Lewis ripped a victory away from the Bills as he forced a fumble in overtime. The Bills have given trouble to the  Fins, Pats, and Ravens. Now enough with the past, and on to Sunday.

The Chiefs run game is 1st in the NFL and rightfully so, thanks to the thunder and lightning combo of Thomas Jones and Jamaal Charles.Could be a huge fantasy say for both backs as the number 1 rushing attack faces the number 32 ranked rush defense. That means they are bad.

Another combo that has been hot as of late is Matt Cassel and Dwayne Bowe. Ever since that forgettable game in Indianapolis, Bowe has been electric catching everything in his sight and somehow finding the end zone while doing it. However, a combo that has been even hotter has been….the Ryan Fitzpatrick to Steve Johnson punch? Wait who? Exactly, a Harvard grad and a 224th pick in the 2008 draft. Johnson has scored a touchdown in four consecutive games and he has his coach Chan Gailey all giddy. Brandon Flowers has been an above average corner thus far and he will have a tall task with the wide out who prefers to be called, “Stevie.”

Another youngin who will be looking to get back on track from an inconsistent and unspectacular first half of the season in C.J. Spiller. Spiller was a man on a mission the first couple of weeks, but fell out of the limelight with his lack of highlight reel plays that made him so famous at Clemson. The Chiefs run defense has been stifling, keeping runners under the 100 yard figure which has ultimately contributed to their spot in 1st place of the AFC West.

Prediction: Chiefs continue their home dominance, leaving Buffalo winless for another week. 31-13 Chiefs

Limited in practice this week are Ryan Lilja, Dexter McCluster, and Rashard Langford. All are expected to be a full go for Sunday barring any setbacks.

Check back on Monday for a post game wrap up.
