The Jazz played their first game of the season last night, Denver won 110-88 going away. Most of you probably think I am off my rocker since I picked Denver to win this division. Well I honestly feel that the Jazz came out flat, especially for a Jerry Sloan coached team!! I do not expect this to be an issue as they go forward for that exact reason, Jerry Sloan is coach. What I did find interesting about this game was how Denver made sure to take Al Jefferson out of the game. By that I mean they kept 2 bodies on him as much as they could so he couldn’t create trouble on the block. In Denver’s case that was very intelligent, going forward I have no doubt that Coach Sloan will come up with ways to get Jefferson the ball in better situations. The most troubling stat of last night’s game for Utah, 22 turnovers to 21 assists. The rebouding was about even, Denver didn’t shoot all that great from the line and coupled with the turnovers gives you a good idea of why they lost. Their lack of energy didn’t help matters either, it’s an 82 game season and it’s only 1 loss. Now if they are under .500 after 10 games than maybe I owe you all an apology for leading you all on, fair??
