Admit it, we all know it. Chicks dig the long ball, sorry for the metaphor as I have been trying to use it for a while in a blog. With saying that though it is right to say that the Texas Rangers used the long back to crawl back into the 2010 World Series with a 4-2 win last night in Texas. The Giants now lead the series two games to one.
Texas finally got some great pitching from starter Colby Lewis and game three finally made this series look like the close one as predicted. Mitch Moreland led the long ball parade with a three run shot in the 2nd inning off Jonathan Sanchez, while Josh Hamilton hit a 420 ft plus bomb to make it 4-0 Rangers. Then Cody Ross and Andres Torres each hit solo shots to end the night for Lewis.
Just off the topic of the actual on field play to the off field question. Why in their right minds would MLB play game four of the World Series on Halloween Night. Kids will be out all night with their parents and when they get back they will be sorting out candy, who will be watching this game (aside from us fans) I don’t argue with playing the game on Halloween but how about a 1 or 2 pm start time instead of the usual 8pm garbage on a school night. How can baseball create newer fans when its showcase event is on late on the east coast and most kids will be to bed before the outcome of the game is decided. Anyways on to the Game 4 Preview.
GAME 4 PREVIEW:
Location: Rangers Ballpark, Arlington @ 8pm
Probables: SAN FRAN Madison Bumgarner @ TEX Tommy Hunter
