South Florida will play another weeknight game and host Rutgers in Tampa on Wednesday night. The Bulls are coming off their most impressive win of the season, ( at Cincinnati ) while Rutgers is coming off an ugly loss to the Pitt Panthers. Both teams come into the game with plenty of rest, Rutgers last played on Oct. 23rd, and the Bulls last game was on Oct. 22nd.
Rutgers head coach Greg Schiano said Monday that he will start true freshman quarterback Chas Dodd against South Florida on Wednesday night. Dodd will start in place of Tom Savage, who entered the season with the most career starts of any Big East quarterback. Savage led Rutgers to a 31-0 victory over USF last season. I would expect the Bulls to bring the heat against the young quarterback and try to get in his face. Dodd is barely six feet tall, so seeing over the line could be a problem for him. South Florida will be without sack leader Craig Marshall, he’s out with a broken bone in his foot. USF will lean on senior defensive end David Bedford to provide the pass rush from the line. If their is a weakness on the South Florida defense, it’s their pass defense and the lack of turnovers they force. The Bulls last game against the Bearcats, they gave up 512 passing yards, a school record.
Quarterback B.J. Daniels is coming off his best game of the season, he lit up the Bearcats for four touchdowns. Against Cincinnati, Daniels showed everyone a glimpse of what he is capable of. Daniels and the Bulls are hoping that continues against Rutgers on Wednesday night. The Bulls are looking for a little revenge as well, last season Rutgers smoked the Bulls in New Jersey, they held the Bulls to 159 total yards and Daniels had three costly turnovers in the first half. An absolutely pathetic performance from the Bulls last year against Rutgers on offense, it’s the worst offensive game from the Bulls I have ever seen. I expect that will change tomorrow night in Tampa!
Protect The Football: Rutgers leads the Big East in turnover margin with a +5, South Florida is -3. In the past two losses to Rutgers, the Bulls have 10 turnovers and forced three. That MUST change if the Bulls want to beat Rutgers Wednesday night.
Prediction South Florida 23 Rutgers 13

Hi my name is Brian and I currently reside in the Sarasota area. I'm currently an online student with Southern New Hampshire University going for my Bachelor's in Communications. New Hampshire is close to my heart because I got married there in October of 2011. I was an intern with the local ABC station here in Sarasota last summer and it lasted until the winter. I had a blast and loved putting together highlights for the live sportscasts. I have also interned at WSRQ radio in Sarasota. Currently working for State College of Florida with their hoops team and softball team. I was at Tropicana Field, back in October of 2008 when the Rays won the AL. David Price came out of the bullpen that night and got Jed Lowrie to ground out and the dome went nuts! TB had a losing season every year until 2008, it was a magical season for the Rays.
