Thee Spurs are off to a decent 2-1 start but turnovers sre still a big problem. 15.3 turnovers per game has to come down, good thing its early. Against the Pacers, the Spurs did what Popovich wants them to do this year and thats run. 122 points on opening night is really good but the defense still has problems. The spurs can’t give up 109 points to teams like the Pacers.
Saturday night against the Hornets, it was the offense that didn’t show up, mainly in the 2nd and 3rd quarter. 13 turnovers and sloppy possesions cost the Spurs the game.
The Spurs bounced back Monday night against the Clippers even after turning the ball over 18 times. Gary Neal came off the bench and put up 16 points hitting 4-8 three pointers.
So far this season, Manu looks like he’s in mid-season form, leading the team in scoring (19.7ppg). RJ seems to be returning to form scoring 17.3ppg. He just looks confident. Blair has yet to go off but he’s playing solid thus far. The bench looks deep and will be deeper when Bonner comes back.
Tonight is their first good road test in Phoenix. Keep an eye on RJ and the bench.
