No. 9 Nebraska visits Iowa State

With the hard part of its schedule over with, Nebraska looks to feast on some of the cupcake teams in the Big 12. First, we have the Cyclones. Anything scare you? One impressive win and that is it. If Nebraska can play football without turning the ball over, it will win. Last year, it had a school record eight turnovers as it lost in an upset. It does not seem Nebraska will play that bad this year. Nebraska is coming off a win where Roy Helu Jr. dominated the competition and broke into the record books. Look for him and Taylor Martinez to shine against this defensive team if the offensive line continues its emergence.

Iowa State has played terrible against some off the better teams. It gave up 68 points against Utah and 52 against Oklahoma. It also lost to Iowa earlier in the season. The Cyclones really have not been in the game much against the nation’s elites. The Utes and the Sooners are top 20 offenses in the country. Nebraska comes into this weekend ranked 17. Its running game is ranked six. Even with all that said, I could see Iowa State giving Nebraska a good fight for three quarters and wilting in the end. Nebraska should not lose this game. Their small national championship hopes lie in these few games.

Iowa State’s offensive is just not impressive enough. Austen Arnaud has been better of late after a rocky first two games. He just needs to avoid the turnovers. Arnaud is capable of making a big play for his team or a big play for the other team. He does not have much to work with the leading receiver being his tight end. The defense for Nebraska will make sure Iowa State gains no confidence. Nebraska wins big, 56-17.
