MIAMI SQUASHES MAGIC, NETS, AND T-WOLVES. WILL THE HORNETS TEST THEM?

Miami Heat 96 – Orlando Magic 70.  Heat 101 – New Jersey Nets 78.  Miami 129 – Minnesota Timberwolves 97.  This is the Heat team people expected, as well as the squad all of the NBA would fear.  After the opening night loss to Boston, fans in Miami were shocked and in every other city fans were laughing.  Now, after just a couple of games, Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, and the entire Heat team have got people seriously concerned.  Miami is on the verge of destroying other teams.  Players like James Jones are the ones killing the opposition.  JJ is averaging about 12 PPG while shooting over 50% from the field as well as over 50% from beyond the three point line.  All of the sudden, Miami doesn’t miss Mike Miller as much as they thought, but they will certainly be happy to add him to the mix.  So let’s assume the Heat have only played two quality opponents.  What does it mean?

I think it means the Miami Heat are who we thought they were.  They are the favorites in the Eastern Conference.  Oh, and by the way, to all of the national media, now you can see that Wade is the leader of the team.  He will lead the team in scoring.  James, on the other hand will probably lead the team in assists, but who will be the actual point guard.  I ask because a young lad named Chris Paul will be hosting the Heat Friday night, and he is probably the best PG in the league.  It may not matter, because beyond Paul, forward David West, and maybe Trevor Ariza, the Hornets do not have anyone that can score on this team.  Paul and West, however, are match-up problems.  CP3 is quicker than anyone in a Heat uniform and while I hate to admit it, David West might be better than Chris Bosh.

Maybe this will be a loss for the Miami Heat, but I seriously doubt it.  The magnificent three have only begun to establish chemistry and in all likelihood will wind up losing to lesser teams, as the Bulls did in the Jordan era.  Friday night in New Orleans could be a test or it could be a joke.  My guess is a test.
