The Stanford Cardinal easily dispatched of the Arizona Wildcats earlier tonight. The Cardinal proved to be too tough in the trenches for the overmatched Wildcats as the Cardinal took control of their PAC-10 destiny.
The game was out of hand half way through the 3rd quarter as Andrew Luck hit backup running back Tyler Gaffney on 5 yard touchdown pass giving the Cardinal a 28-3 lead.
Don’t let the 428 yards given up by the defense deceive you. Most of the yardage was gained after the game was pretty much out of reach. The defense is showing signs of improvement, but still has a long way to go to be considered a formidable defense.
Next week, the Cardinal will travel to Arizona State and face the Sun Devils. ASU is coming off a very tough loss to Southern Cal and sits at 2-4 in the PAC-10.
