The Buffalo Bills winless streak is now at 8, losing 22-19 to the Chicago Bears; however Ryan Lindell’s streak of converting the extra point has ended at 321, perhaps costing the Bills the win. The blocked extra point came in the third quarter after a 4 yard touchdown from Fred Jackson preventing the Bills from tying the game at 14.
This game was the third of five games to be held at the Rogers Centre as part of the Toronto-Bills series. It will be interesting to know what the attendance was for this game, and will post this as soon as it is available. From what I saw from the broadcast it was a full house which is an improvement from last year. It appeared to be an equally split fan base and they were treated to an exciting game, which will probably lead to higher ticket prices for next year…
Ryan Fitzpatrick finished the day going 31/51 for 299 yards with 1 touchdown and 2 costly interceptions. Although Fitzpatrick has been playing well for the last few weeks, what will it take for the Bills to get a win? My wifes new favorite player Stevie Johnson keeps impressing me week after week. He had 11 catches for 145 yards including a key 45 yard catch to keep the Bills close. Johnson was picked 224th overall in the 2008 draft and he is starting to make waves in the NFL. #13 has emerged as one of the bright spots on the Bills roster.
Next week they will face the Detroit Lions who 2 years ago were in the same situation as the Bills are now. The Bills will need to get a few weird bounces, a Hail Mary and a few Our Fathers to get off this streak and get the Bills fans cheering again.
I don’t get upset anymore when they lose, I’m used to it. I just feel sorry for my wife, I dragged her into this whole thing and she’s never seen a winning season or a playoff game. Just know I love you dear. They’ll come around.
