Big Days Ahead

The Blue Jackets are presently 4th in the central division and 7th in the conference with 16 points in the first 13 games.  They are on pace to finish with 100 points which would be a franchise record.  This would have placed them in 7th place in the Western Conference in 2009-2010.  They can’t afford to go on any sort of extended losing streak if they are going to make the playoffs this year.

The month of November will prove to be very crucial in the Jackets overall success this year.  In four of their nine games left to be played in November they will be playing opponents within the Central Division.  In four of their next 6 games they will be playing four teams that are just three or less points behind them.  Their opponents will be Colorado, Anaheim, San Jose, and Nashville.  The other two teams they play in their next six games are sitting 1st and 2nd in the conference, St. Louis and Los Angeles.

The Jackets need to earn at least 11 of the possible 18 points available in the month of November to continue their pace.  This will be no easy task but if accomplished should give the Blue Jackets plenty of confidence and should create some excitement among the Blue Jacket fans.

The attendance in the Nationwide Arena has been less than impressive this year.  They are averaging just under 12, 000 fans a game which is considerably less than last years average of 15, 416.  Where have the days gone when the Blue Jackets were attracting over 17, 00o fans a game?  The product on the ice is some of the best hockey the Blue Jackets have played in their 10 year history.

There can be no complaints about the cost of attending a game.  The Blue Jackets are offering a special ticket deal on November 12th as the Blue Jackets play the Colorado Avalanche.  The deal includes: game ticket, $10 food and beverage voucher, Tim Hortons mug, Timbits 10 snack pack, and a Blue Jackets hat.  It is also a team poster giveaway night.  Not to mention that you can meet and obtain autographs from the 2010-11 Blue Jackets players and the first Blue Jacket captain in franchise history, Lyle Odelein.  Why would you not want to go to a game with deals like this?
