Knicks – Bucks Recap
Posted By Justin Sammartano On Nov 9 2010 @ 10:28 pm In New York Knicks | No Comments
The Knicks hope to redeem themselves tonight while they take on the Bucks after a a discouraging loss to the Sixers over the weekend.
That hope lasted for all of about 5 minutes.
The Knicks give up 41 points in the first quarter while scoring only 19 of their own. Their worst first quarter performance thus far this season, set the pace for the rest of the game. Throughout the next three quarters, the Knicks were only outscored by 7 points, but the poor first quarter was too devastating to come back from. The Final score was 107-80, sending the Knicks back home with a record of 3-4 and Milwaukee improving their record to 3-5.
Knicks: A. Stoudemire- 19 pts. 4 reb. 1 stl. 2 blk. Milwaukee: Jennings- 19 pts. 5 reb. 6 ast. 1 stl.
Coach D’antoni has to be upset with the performance of his team these last two games. You would think that a poor performance against Philadelphia at home would motivate the Knicks to come out tonight with a better effort. Their response tonight was another sub-par defensive performance with poor shot selection and too many fouls. A Recipe for disaster.
In search of a positive note to end on, their is a lot of basketball to be played this season. We have seen that the Knicks can play competitive basketball. We have also seen them play down to those opponents who are not as talented as they. With as many new faces as the Knicks have coming together in such short notice, expect their to be a significant amount of games played before the Knicks show high team chemistry on a consistent basis. If the Knicks are able to maintain a .500 record or just below .500 for the majority of the season, they will be in good shape.
The Knicks come back to the Garden tomorrow night to welcome the return of David Lee and the Golden State Warriors. A talented team, yet without their starting point guard and high scorer Monta Ellis (27.9 ppg), they are a very beatable team. Ellis is out due to a lower back strain. We will check back in tomorrow after the game!
