Another Day, Another Loss

On the opening kickoff the Bengals Bernard Scott fumbled and turned it over to Pittsburgh. The Steelers capitalized immediately with Rashard Mendenhall 1-yard touchdown plunge. On the ensuing Bengals possession, Cincinnati was forced to punt. William Gay got through and blocked the punt. Just like that, the Bengals were down 10-0 and it was over.
Yes, the Bengals fought until the end, but once again you can’t continually get off to bad starts and expect to win games. It’s amazing to me how the Bengals just continue to get off to bad starts. It’s unbelievable. The weekly gameplans just keep getting thrown away.
The Steelers really didn’t look that sharp. Roethlesberger was o.k going 17/27 for 163 yards one touchdown and a pick. Rashard Mendenhall had 99 yards rushing. They got a signature trick play which resulted in a Randle-El 39-yard touchdown pass. It was not an impressive performance, but they did enough to win.
What can you say about Terrell Owens. The man still has it. He’s been, to me, the biggest surprise in the NFL from a wide receiver position. He caught 10 balls for 141 yards and two touchdowns.
This is now five consecutive losses for Cincinnati. This is 2006 all over again. Dallas has been the most disappointing team this season, but Cincinnati is up there too.
