Boise State vs Idaho Preview

Well here it goes, the end to the biggest rivalry in Idaho, the end of hatred between these two schools, one from northern Idaho and one from southern Idaho, the end to the Governors Cup.  While this rivalry game means a lot to many people in the state of Idaho, this game has been lopsided for years.  Boise State has won 11 straight games against the Vandals, and in this Friday’s game, the streak will undoubtedly be extended to 12.

Boise State looks to have another solid outing against the Vandals after defeating its previous opponent, Hawaii, 42-7.  Idaho on the other hand, had its hands full trying to stop the high octane pistol attack of Nevada.  The end result wasn’t what the Vandals were hoping for, as they lost 63-17.  In order for the Vandals to have some sort of shot at competing in this game, they must try to hold Boise States explosive offense and try to get a few turnovers in the process.  Boise State is ranked second in the FBS in points per game averaging 47.o points a game. They are also ranked fourth in total offense averaging 543.5 yards a game.

Quarterback Kellen Moore looks to keep his Heisman hype rolling as he hopes to tear apart the abysmal Vandals defense. In last weeks game against Hawaii, Moore threw for 507 yards as well as 3 touchdowns, further showing the nation why he is one of the best quarterbacks in the country.  In order for Idaho to have a shot at winning, quarterback Nathan Enderle needs to have a big game. As it was shown in last weeks game against Hawaii, Boise State can shut off a teams offensive production in a flash. Idaho must try to keep Boise State offense off the field as much as they can as well as prevent costly turnovers.

For the 12th consecutive season the Governors Cup will be residing in Boise, as Idaho has not be able to stop the powerful Bronco’s in decades.  Boise State will look to flex its offensive and defensive muscle as they beat the Vandals 63-7.
