Iowa State this week should be heavily favored in this game because of the shake up with the head coaching position at Colorado. Dan Hawkins was fired this week after their 52-46 loss to Kansas last weekend. Longtime assistant Brian Cabral, the Buffaloes’ defensive coordinator, was named interim coach. Another reason for the firing is Colorado has a 0-5 start in conference play, first time ever in the football program’s affiliation to leagues dates to 1915.
The Colorado Buffaloes offense under Dan Hawkins, heavily relied on his son the quarterback Cody Hawkins by passing the ball. They might change their ways and run the ball which against the Cyclones would be a good idea because the Iowa State defense like to intercept. The Iowa State offense might have their way with the Colorado defense because they haven’t really be able to dominate at all this season due to injuries.
This game should be the game to make Iowa State bowl eligible, Colorado is on a big tailspin but they might rise up and big a competitor. They will be playing for their pride, trying to get at least one Big 12 victory to salvage this horrible season for them. Well shall see at the end o f the game if Iowa State overall dominates or Colorado upsets.
