The Falcons drove 80 yards with 1:05 left on the clock and only one timeout to score the game winning 33 yard touchdown by Roddy White. The Flacons win, 26-21. On that pass, it appeared that Roddy White created separation from Josh Wilson by extending his arm with a clear offensive pass interference. There was no flag on the play.
Ravens were down 14-20 with 2:57 left in the fourth quarter. The Ravens drove down the field with an impressive eight plays for 72 yards which was capped of by a nine yard touchdown pass to Todd Heap. The Ravens took their first lead of the game, 21-20, but left to much time on the clock for the Falcons.
The Matt Ryan to Roddy White connection grows even stronger after Thursday night’s game. Ryan finished the game completing 32 of 50 passes for 316 yards and three touchdowns. White finished the game with 12 catches for 138 yards and two touchdowns. This combo is getting better with every week and is slowly becoming one of the best in the NFL.
The Ravens offense couldn’t get anything going and was shut out in the first half, 0-13. They had an impressive comeback that fell short. Flacco had a good game despite that he was being rushed virtually every pass play. He led the team out of a 13 point deficit and eventually took the lead late in the fourth quarter. Flacco finished the game completing 22 of 34 passes for 215 yards and three touchdowns with one interception.
The Ravens defense played a good game but, when it came down to winning the game, they couldn’t get it done. Even if the offensive pass interference was called, there was still enough time on the clock to make up for that yardage to attempt a game winning field goal. Remember, Matt Bryant hit a 51 yard field goal earlier in the game.
The Ravens fall to 6-3 and have a mini bye before they have to travel to Carolina to play the Panthers. The Falcons improve to 7-2 and now are in the discussion of being the best team in the NFC.
