For those of you who missed tonight Blackhawks game against the Ducks, you did not miss much. EXCEPT, the Chicago Blackhawks pulled off an OT win to earn a victory over the Anaheim Ducks. The game took its usual course of events, the Blackhawks scored, and then the opposing team. But tonight, the Hawks did not have a single unanswered goal. This I think is what pushed the Hawks to a win that ended their dreadful 3 game losing streak. The Chicago Blackhawks played their last home game before they venture off on their 6 game circus trip and what better way to kick things off then a much needed home ice victory!
The Blackhawks started Corey Crawford in the net tonight. Crawford stopped 24 of 26 shots tonight to help the Hawks take a 3-2 win over the Ducks. Patrick Kane had a goal and an assist as well as Marian Hossa. Viktor Stalberg pounded in the GWG with 28 seconds left in OT. Although both teams left the game with a point, it was the Chicago Blackhawks earning the “W” in the United Center tonight. Perry scored both goals for Anaheim and Jonas Hiller stopped 40 of 43 between the pipes tonight.
Tonight’s victory was one that the Blackhawks deserved. Plenty of SOG and great chances created. Hopefully they can start a nice win streak before the return home to the United Center in two weeks. The circus is in town which means the Blackhawks are out. Hopefully Coach Q can be the ringleader of many road wins and the 9-9-2 Hawks will come home with a winning record.
