Another one bites the dust for the Iowa State Cyclones. Another victory and chance to become bowl eligible slipped away, losing to the “new” Colorado Buffaloes under interim head coach Brian Cabral. The win gave Colorado their first conference win of the season, and their first win in over a month.
Colorado just took Iowa State to school holding the Cyclones to only 229 yards in total offense. They had 235 yards passing and -6 yards rushing. It was the poorest show of the offense and the running game this year. Iowa State is running out of chances to become bowl eligible. Iowa State has to win next week against Missouri to become bowl eligible. By the way they played in this game I have to say their season is over folks. Colorado look as though it deserve better to become bowl eligible. Even the Cyclones defense didn’t showed up to play, they didn’t get any interceptions, just forced a couple fumbles.
The outcome for this season will most likely be bitter sweet for the Cyclones because they struggled in the beginning and then turn on “heat” and started to look like a real football team. But unless they pulled off a miracle, upset against the Tigers next week, it will be better luck next year Cyclone fans.
