“Luck”y Victory for Stanford
Posted By Donovan Williams On Nov 14 2010 @ 2:42 am In Stanford | No Comments
The stats for heisman trophy candidate was not all that impressive. While he did miss on only 8 passes, Luck’s 33 completions resulted in only 292 yards, an interception and no touchdowns.
But it was Luck’s leadership that guided the Cardinal to this close victory. With 10:36 left to play and trailing 13-10, Luck guided the beleaguered offense on a 12 play, 5:22 85-yard drive to give the Cardinal a 17-13 victory.
The stats were not great, but Luck took control when the team needed him to most and showed remarkable resiliency in bouncing back from an interception on Stanford’s previous possession.
Perhaps the Cardinal were caught in a trap game. Next week, the Cardinal face Cal in “The Big Game.” But whatever the case, the Cardinal survived and are still in control of their Alamo Bowl destiny. Blah.
