With the recent fall of TCU in the BCS polls, these next few weeks are more critical than ever for the Broncos. Boise State (9-0), faces a pesky Fresno State (6-3) team that looks to pull off an upset. Boise State looks to have a tough task this week trying to stop a Bulldogs team that would love nothing more than to destroy the BCS hopes for the Broncos.
Fresno State will be led by running back Robbie Rouse, who in the past few weeks has been one of the most dominant running backs in the country. Look for Fresno State to run the ball often, as they try to keep the high-powered offense of Boise State off the field. Quarterback Kellen Moore looks to keep his Heisman hype rolling, as he hopes to lead the Broncos to victory. In last weeks game against Idaho, Moore threw for 216 yards and three touchdowns. Look for the Broncos to hand the ball off to Doug Martin a few more times than usual, as Fresno State boasts the second best passing defense in the WAC.
Since the game will be played on a Friday, I would suggest that if you have time watch this game. Fresno State’s Coach Pat Hill would love nothing more then to send the Broncos out of the WAC with a defeat in Bronco stadium. Every meeting between these two teams is a competition, and I would expect nothing less in this Friday’s matchup. Besides Nevada, Fresno State presents the biggest problem to Boise State within the WAC.
Even with the determination that Fresno State has to ruin Boise States season, I still predict that the Broncos will come out of Bronco Stadium 10-0. Boise State has too much power on the offensive side of the ball, and even with the talent that running back Robbie Rouse presents for the Bulldogs, I still see Boise State containing him to under 100 yards. Boise State will win 45-24 as the Broncos continue down the path to perfection.
