Chapter 2 of the Jason Garrett led Dallas Cowboys

This Sunday we will see if Jason Garrett can helm the 2-7 Dallas Cowboys to their 1st home win of the season against the also 2-7 Detroit Lions. (N.B-Detroit has lost 25 straight road games)
Dallas rallied behind Garrett for a big emotional, disciplined win last Sunday and we will have to wait and see which Cowboy team shows up this Sunday. The ‘I don’t feel like trying’ Cowboys under ex-Head Coach Wade Phillips or ‘the lets play like we can’ Cowboys under new Head Coach Jason Garrett.
For the Cowboys to be victorious it is going to come down to quarterback Jon Kitna, it is his show now and if can play like he did against the New York Giants last week than watch for another ‘W’ in the win column for the Cowboys but the Cowboys will only go as far as Kitna can take them. Unfortunately the Cowboys cannot rely on their defence albeit they did force 3 turnovers last week. The Cowboys will need BIG games from rookie sensation Dez Bryant, Felix Jones, ‘O’ line, ‘D’ line, special teams and did I leave anyone out? The defence. O.K, so I basically just covered the entire team but remember from past blogs, no one players wins football games, it takes a team effort and in order to win the ‘whole’ team must come out to play. Garrett was quoted earlier this week
“I thought our units responded. And then
Maybe most importantly, I thought our team
TEAM being the key word as I have not heard that word used a lot so far this season in Dallas.
Detroit like Dallas is better than the 2-7 record and is improving but they will have to come into Dallas without starting QB Matthew Stafford who has shown signs of excellence in his so far short football career. Shaun Hill will get the start again this week for the Lions.
Last time the Lions played in Dallas was December 31, 2006 and it was than Detroit QB Jon Kitna who led the Lions to a 39-31 victory.
We’ll both teams are 2-7 and really have nothing to play for, the game could still show signs of excitement as both have explosive offences when they are on their game and both have gaps in their defences on any given day so stay tuned but this game may not be as boring as most are anticipating. I like the Cowboys although not sure where the TD point spread came from but I still like the Cowboys.
see ya’all for US Thanksgiving.
