Last weeks 14-12 win against the Detroit Lions may not have been convincing enough to have them favoured this week but I know it will give the Buffalo Bills momentum when they visit Cincinnati to play the Bengals. Terrell Owens will be making his first appearance against the Bills since playing with them for one season last year. According to dailynewsonline.com, T.O. coins this game as “the battle of the worst”. T.O. goes on to talk about Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, “I liked Fitz’s demeanor. I liked his confidence. He has that type of, you know, swagger about him. I knew the guy could play all along. I’m not surprised by any means.” Fitzpatrick played 2 years for the Bengals and started 12 games in 2007; he was traded in 2007 for a seventh round pick, I am sure it would be a big confidence boost to beat his old team as the starting quarterback.
The Bills defense seem to be getting stronger and if it weren’t for the late touchdown last week they would have kept the opposing team under 10 for the first time this season. I’ll be looking for a big game from the defense and bigger day offensively, from our highligts running back Fred Jackson and wide receiver Stevie Johnson.
Earlier in the week Stevie Johnson was a guest on the Jim Rome show. He spoke about losing close games, and that the worst thing they can do is quit. Compared to teams like Dallas, Minnesota, Cincinnati that are under achieving, at least the Bills give it their all and as a Bills fan I can respect that.
The interview was capped with a freestyle rap from Johnson who was known as Stevie “Styles” at the University of Kentucky. I’ll try to find the clip for the next blog but for now here is one I found on Youtube.
