Insert Negative Clipper Headline Here

Posted By Donovan Williams On Nov 19 2010 @ 3:26 pm In Los Angeles Clippers | No Comments

I saw the halftime score and noticed that the Clippers were down by 10. With two kids and a NFL game on, I turned my attention away from the Clipper game. I just got home from work and was sitting down for dinner,  so I decided to focus my attention on a sporting event that is not likely to make me vomit.

I watched the NFL.

Unfortunately, I am Miami Dolphin fan and last night’s performance was, dare I say, Clippersesque.

So during the Dolphin debacle, I decided to turn it back to the Clipper game.

Maybe they are showing some grit and got back into the game?

Perhaps they have carried their strong performance from the previous night into Indiana and are now leading the woeful Pacers?

Sounds promising, right? So I click over from the NFL Network to Fox Sports West and find the Clippers getting thoroughly blown out.

Not what I expected. Indiana wins 107-80.

That’s not ugly, it’s FUGLY.

If the Dolphin game was shot to the body that knocked the wind out of me, the Clipper game was the knockout punch.

It’s not like Reggie Miller, Mark Jackson, Rik Smits or Jalen Rose out there on the floor. It seems that the Clippers are simply lost.

They have no idea what is going on or how to remedy it. Blake Griffin was quoted in the LA Times saying “Something’s got to change. We have to keep working, but we can’t just keep working and keep losing.”

If there is something positive in that statement it’s that it appears that Griffin is ready to take a leadership role. Put his stamp on the franchise and the direction of the team.

This is what this blogger has been clamoring for. Does Blake Griffin have the chops, the moxie to lead this Clipper team in the future or will he be just another talented player who is devoured by the Clippers’ losing culture?

At 1-12, the season is already lost, which I have wrote about before. It will be interesting to watch Saturday’s game to see the attitude the team comes out with versus the Knicks.

Will the Clippers further acquiesce to that fact that they are the Clippers and continue to be the NBA’s little bitch, or will they come out with some attitude versus the Knicks and show some pride?

I hope it’s the latter, because the former is becoming very boring to write about.
