The Blue Jackets are off to their best start in franchise history as they improved their record to 11 wins and six losses.
Recap: Columbus Blue Jackets vs. Anaheim Ducks
The Blue Jackets blocked shots at key moments of the game to maintain the lead. Scott Arniel continues to get the most out of his players and has them sacrificing their body in order to win.
Steve Mason was outstanding making 47 saves including 25 in the third period to earn his sixth win of the season. It’s not just the number of saves but the timing of his saves that is so impressive.
Chris Clark scored a huge goal in the second period to tie the game at two. He scored just 25 seconds after Bobby Ryan scored shorthanded to give the Ducks the lead. This gave the the Blue Jackets the lift they needed and they never looked back.
Columbus Blue Jackets vs. San Jose Sharks
Keys to Win:
The Jackets will need to contain the San Jose’s dangerously skilled top two lines. The play of the Blue Jacket’s third line will be very important if the Blue Jackets are going to pull this off.
The Jackets will need to start strong and play with energy early in the game as they are playing their second game in two nights. Derek Mackenzie and Jared Boll will need to fore-check hard and early to force the Shark’s forward to be looking over their shoulders when they have the puck.
They can not just merely be satisfied with their record and strong play as of late. They need to continue to be hungry and be strongly mentally if they are going to be able to steal the two points from the Sharks tonight.
Go Jackets Go!
My deepest condolences and prayers go out to the Burns family. Pat Burns was an excellent coach and person who made a positive impact on many peoples lives.
It is disappointing and an absolue shame that the selections committee didn’t have the decency to induct Burns into the Hall of Fame. Burns will be in the Hall of Fame one day but unfortunately will not be able to celebrate it with his friends and family. There are no excuses…it should have been done.
