The Vikings can’t lose against the Packers today. Period. If they want to have any chance at a meaningful season. If Favre wants to teach Green Bay one last lesson. And if the team as a whole wants to salvage some pride against a rival, Minnesota will win today. That is a lot of if’s, but the real key to today’s game is the defense, and specifically Jared Allen. With the exception of the game earlier this season, the Vikings have terrorized QB Aaron Rodgers. They must do the same today to keep their dwindling playoff hopes alive.
On offense, Minnesota needs KISS. Not Gene Simmons, but keep it simple stupid. Run Adrian Peterson at least 25 times. I don’t care how many defenders are in the box. In reality, Brad Childress should have started Tarvaris Jackson weeks ago, but he has all of his eggs, job security, and future in the Favre basket. If Minnesota can hit Rodgers and not turn the ball over, they probably win. If not, the Vikes start the off-season really early.
