The Patriots continue to impress after a big win over the Indianapolis Colts. Just like last week, every aspect of the Patriots looked about as good as they could get. At times, the defense struggled, but that happens with every defense that plays against Peyton Manning. However, the defense also looked great at times, intercepting Manning an astonishing 3 times, including a late pick that sealed the deal for the Pats. Jerod Mayo continues to impress leading the defense with 11 tackles. If this defense can force Manning to throw 3 picks, then I think they can hang with every offense in this league. They played better than the 28 points they gave up and I now look at them as one of the best in the league.
As for the offense, the Patriots jumped out to an early 14-0 lead with 2 TD passes from Brady. The offense was moving the ball and doing it rather easily. Benjarvus Green-Ellis had a big game as I mentioned he needed to. He kept the Colts’ defense on their toes and helped Brady’s arm stay fresh. Green-Ellis ran the ball 21 times for 96 yards which is great play calling. He also added a rushing TD. Danny Woodhead also looked good, getting 11 touches including a 36-yard TD run. Brady threw only 25 passes and completed 19 of them for 186 yards. The offense stayed balanced as it needed to, and this was just an all-around great game for the Pats. I loved that they rushed the ball more than threw it and really took advantage of the matchup they had.
Everyone on this team has shown they are an asset and have been making plays whenever they are given the opportunity. Brady has a ton of weapons to work with and the offense has not missed a beat since losing Moss. They impress from week to week and look to only be getting stronger. As for the defense, I think the loss to the Browns really woke them up and has had them playing full of energy. They look fast, strong and agile and are making the necessary tackles and have also been making some big/key plays. I am very impressed with this Patriots team especially over the last two weeks. This is the best time for a team to get hot and the Patriots are on fire. They have the Lions this Thanksgiving and I am expecting a big win…
