Knicks Win Audio-Less Game At MSG; Hot Streak Continues

Posted By Justin Sammartano On Nov 23 2010 @ 11:02 pm In New York Knicks | 2 Comments

Those of you who watched the Knicks take on the Bobcats tonight on MSG did just that, watched. You probably weren’t able to hear much due to the fact that MSG was experiencing audio difficulties. Audio Difficulties that began early in the third quarter and were unable to be fixed for the remainder of the game.  No swishin and dishin, no swooping and scooping, no huffing and stuffing.. what?  Never have I seen an audio difficulty during a sporting event that had lasted for over an hour, but as long as “technical difficulties” don’t become a metaphor for the Knicks on the court, we can’t complain.

Final Score: NY Knicks (7-8) 110 Charlotte Bobcats (5-9) 107

Despite problems with the broadcast, the Knicks looked awfully good on the court tonight.  The Knicks, after a six game losing streak have now made up for some of those losses. They are now on a four game winning streak with another game against Charlotte tomorrow night.  Another win against would bring the Knicks back up to a .500 record and well within the better half of teams in the East.

Credit must be given where credit is due.  The Knicks have looked like a completely different team on the defensive end in the last four games.  They are among the top three teams in the league with blocks per game and have been causing turnovers left and right.  On the offensive end, the Knicks are continuing to be dependent on taking the ball to the hole.  They are no longer living and dying by the three ball and are getting to the line early and often.  When the Knicks can get to the line as much as they have been, and shoot well, they are a very difficult team to beat.

After their game in LA against the Clippers, I wrote that these two games would be a truth test for the Knicks.  While the Bobcats clearly struggled in more ways then one tonight, it can still be said that the Knicks have made a statement with this game tonight.  That statement being that they will not just settle for beating the teams that they are supposed to beat day in and day out.  With the exception of the big three teams in the East (Celtics, Magic, and Heat), the Knicks should look at everyone else as a team they can beat every meeting. Only then can the Knicks become an elite team.

Just want to add that Danilo Gallinari has made 43 consecutive free throws, one shy of the Knicks all time record set by Chris Duhon in 2008.

Also, Landry Fields is the steal of the draft thus far.

Upcoming Games: Wednesday 11/24 @Charlotte Bobcats 7:00 pm     Saturday 11/27 @ MSG vs. Atlanta Hawks
