Battle for the Bucket

Two days after Thanksgiving, the Indiana Hoosiers will leave Bloomington and travel to West Lafayette to take on the Purdue Boilermakers. These teams have identical records, 4-7 except none of Indiana’s wins have come against a Big Ten opponent. This final game of the season with be the battle for the Old Oaken Bucket, a trophy awarded to the winner of this longtime rivalry.
Sixteen Indiana seniors, including quarterback, Ben Chappell, will be wearing the crimson and white colors for the last time. They would like nothing more than to end their season with a win and hope to do so this weekend.
The entire team has prepared for this game by studying tape and looking at the Purdue’s players and how they play the game. Their quarterback, Rob Henry, is one of their fastest players. Chappell, not known for his speed or rushing game, will have to rely on the accuracy of his passing game to move the football down the field.
For the past two years, the Bucket has gone to the Boilermakers and the Hoosiers are eager to bring it back to Bloomington. This would be a huge win for the Hoosiers and they would be able to walk off the field for the last time in 2010 with smiles rather than disappointed and frustrated faces. The game will be played at noon and will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
