We’re in the thick of the NFL and Thursday games which can be terrible for fantasy teams, generally, for those teams with injury concerns, or who have busy schedules, or who just forget about setting their line ups (you know who you are). As much of a pain as it can be though, it’s always good to see your Thanksgiving day games and we have a few this year with some fantasy potential. Here are some players to look at for Thursday’s games.
Shaun Hill vs NE – New England’s pass defense has been erratic this year, but in the end they are giving up yards and Hill could be the beneficiary of that on a team that has had more success lately through the air. New England is ranked 31st in pass D and Hill does have Calvin Johnson. Should be a good play.
Marques Colston vs DAL – Despite a resurgence of good play in Dallas, they are still vulnerable against the pass and Marques Colston has been playing well over the past 3 games. If there is a reliable fantasy player outside of Drew Brees on the Saints it’s Colston.
BenJarvis Green-Ellis vs DET – BenJarvis has been a steady producer over the past couple of games averaging close to 20 touches and should be in line for the same against a mediocre Lions defense. He will still be the goal line guy in New England in a game where he’s sure to see the red zone.
Santonio Holmes vs CIN – Santonio Holmes has been playing well for the Jets over the past 3 games with at least 5 catches in each and going over 100 yards twice. With the Bengals missing Jonathan Joseph, they will start Jonathan Wade opposite of Leon Hall who will likely cover Braylon Edwards. This should lead to a good amount of passing coming Holmes’ way and another good day for the wide out.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone and thanks for reading. Please post any comments or questions.
