After a 4th quarter surge that resulted in a loss last week against the New England Patriots, the Indianapolis Colts return home to face the San Diego Chargers. Peyton Manning and his troop look to redeem themselves and stay undefeated at home.
The Chargers are coming off a huge Monday Night Football win against the Denver Broncos giving them a three game winning streak. The Chargers have welcomed the return of wide receiver Vincent Jackson to add to their arsenal to face the new and young cast of Peyton Manning’s weapons. Over the last few seasons, San Diego has been one of the toughest teams in November and December, posting winning records in both months, making them the most clutch, late-season team in the league.
The departure of wide receiver Austin Collie in last week’s game due to injury gave rookie free agent wide receiver Blair White the opportunity to score two quick touchdowns late in the fourth quarter. His play as well as tight end Jacob Tamme gave a glimpse of another rising star willing to step up in the absence of all stars running back Joseph Addai, tight end Dallas Clark and wide receiver Anthony Gonzalez.
Additionally, the clutch partnership of Reggie Wayne and Peyton Manning continue to break records as they became the second most prolific passing yardage duo in league history. Wayne caught for 107 yards and one touchdown in the loss against the Patriots. Manning previously made history with another former teammate wide receiver Marvin Harrison.
The Colts look to cool the Chargers hot streak and defend their home field Sunday at 5:30 pm (EST).
