Commonwealth Cup Sets Up Hokie History

Virginia Tech will be looking to win their 10th straight game this season against long time, in state rival UVA. The team has been through one of the hardest starts it has ever seen, only to win 9 straight games, including 3 straight against Georgia Tech, North Carolina, and Miami. The Hokies defied all the odds, and look to become the first team in the new ACC era to go undefeated in season play. There seems to be no hotter team in the ACC, and VT looks like one of the top in the country. Tech will need to remain grounded, and cannot overlook a UVA team, while struggling, looks to end their season on a good note with an upset.
It will be Senior Day tomorrow in Lane Stadium. 16 Seniors will play their last game at home. This includes Tyrod Taylor, considered to be one of the best QB’s in VT history. It will be interesting to see how much time Tyrod will play, and with the Hokies already slated in the ACC Championship, the team might use a lot of 2nd string players.
This will be a match-up of two very different teams. The Hokies are on a roll, and look to close out the season right. UVA showed promise in their close loss to BC, but still are not what they want to be. UVA ranks in recruiting almost every year, but have not been able to utilize their tools. The game will be won by the Hokies.
Prediction: Virginia Tech 41 Virginia 17
