The New Orleans Saints came into Dallas and beat the Dallas Cowboys. US Thanksgiving, turkey, everything was in place for a nice home team victory. We’ll actually things did not end up that way; the Dallas Cowboys gave the game to the Saints. Final score 30-27 for the Saints.
After the 1st half it was evident that the Saints were going to roll all over the Cowboys and the Cowboys came with no game. A great 2nd half for the Cowboys both offensively and defensively had the game see-sawing until the final minutes/seconds of the ball game.
Dallas quarterback Jon Kitna whom some are calling a journeyman moved the Cowboys on numerous drives and the most important being the drive where Kitna throws to an open Roy Williams who loses/fumbles the ball which for all intents and purposes would of put the game away for the Cowboys 3rd straight victory, instead Williams fumbles, New Orleans comes away with the ball and the rest of the game is history ‘when the Saints come marching down’ the field and Brees throws the game winning TD.
Outside of the loss there is a lot of positive one can find from the game for the Dallas Cowboys. Kitna showed some signs of the old Kitna in keeping the Cowboys in a position to win/tie the game, maybe OT, running game showed emotion with Jones, Barber and Choice all battling hard for yards and tight end Jason Witten was clutch in the 4th quarter getting first down after first down well the Cowboys marched down the field. The game was close and that alone is a positive. The defence did their job in allowing the offence a chance to put points on the board and that the offence did except for one throw and run to Roy Williams which would of sealed the game for the Cowboys except Williams had the ball stripped. No need to go further, Saints recover the ball, drive down field and BAM, TD, Cowboys lose yet another.
Well the Cowboys only role this season now is that of a spoiler, what better way to spoil a turkey dinner than by beating the Super Bowl Champions. I know, can’t cry over spilt milk, the game is history now. Game was exciting, Cowboys almost won which we in Cowboy Nation have and will say a lot in this lost season but be faithful and the Cowboys have now the extra few days to prepare for week-13 when the Boys visit the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil field, yikes.
