Chargers hand Colts and Manning worst loss at home ever!

The Chargers are now playing their best football of the year. Just like all their fans have come accustomed to, the Chargers look like a totally different team come November. The Colts did not play very well, Manning really seems to struggle against the bolts and our 3-4 defense and Reggie Wayne had the worst game I have ever seen him play. It will be interesting to see what the Colts do from here on out. Did the Chargers really go into Indy and beat up a good Colts team? Or are the Colts not as good as some would think, with all of their injuries in mind?
I really like what I have seen from the Chargers defense all season long. The best defense we have had in years. They are balanced in stopping the run and defending the pass. If the defense can mix in some big turnovers like they did last night, the Chargers will be winning a lot of their games in the future.(I’m thinking all of them) Some stand out performers on Defense from the game were, Burnett, Cooper, and Cason. Burnett had 9 tackles and and INT. Burnett has really impressed me this year. I liked what I saw from him when healthy last year and now he is showing it every week. He is a linebacker that can really do it all in the 3-4 scheme, and all we had to give up for him was the space taker upper Igor Olshansky. Cooper had a forced fumble an INT and 2 pass deflections. Cooper is the coach on the field for the defense and I love how he shows his emotion out there. Cason had one of his good games, as he is up and down every week. The Colts did not go after Jammer so the pressure was on Cason all night. He really stepped up to the challenge covering Wayne very well and getting a late pick in the endzone on a well played ball by Cason. Shaun Phillips got credit for the only Chargers sack in the game, but if you watched the play it was because of the beast in the middle Garay manhandling the Colts right guard Mike Pollak and pushing him into Manning and knocking him over. Garay also played a big role in the Chargers only allowing 24 rushing yards with a 1.8 avg. on the night.
The Chargers didn’t really do anything special on offense. They ran the ball with ease and the line played smash mouth football with Tolbert running behind them. Vincent Jackson and Gates did suit up and play but they were limited. Gates did catch four passes in the time he was on the field but Jackson didn’t even get a ball thrown his way after he exited early with a calf injury, which will happen after not seeing any game action for a while. Rivers didn’t have to do much in the win. It is obvious to me though that Rivers is the MVP of the league right now and an elite QB in the League. He is so good under pressure and that’s what separates him from the others. His awareness and quick release allow him to scan the field and find targets while under pressure without making the big mistakes. Unlike other QB’s like Manning and Brady who need time and space to work their magic. I would give a slight edge to Aaron Rodgers for the best QB in the league over Rivers right now, solely because Rodgers can use his legs as well as his arm to hurt you on defense. Although Rivers is still my MVP, as well as my man crush!
