Chiefs Keep Rollin’

Hey Chiefs fans, your Kansas City Football team is rolling right now on all cylinders. Now is the time of year, after Thanksgiving weekend, where if you want to see your team play in late December and January, then they need to be getting hot… now. The Chiefs are heating up. After the Denver shellacking they recieved three weeks ago, they have one their past two convincingly. The Chiefs have done it with their defense and their all pro wide out- Dwayne Bowe.

Dwayne Bowe went off yesterday catching 13 balls for 170 yards and 3 scores. Bowe this year has taken his game to a new level, starting off slow in the first few weeks, however, his turning point was the Indy game where he dropped the go ahead score-Chiefs lose. Since then he has worked his way into Pro Bowl ballots across the league. Matt Cassel literally looked nowhere else yesterday, Thomas Jones had 3 catches, Jamaal Charles 2 and 3 other players with 1 catch. Cassel was very efficient with his go to receiver in the zone throwing 22 of 33 for 233 yards and 4 scores.

The offensive line was superb, giving Cassel nothing but time and clearing the way for Charles and the ground game to pick up 270 yards. Charles ran for 173 yards and a score.

Looking a the defensive side, they were stout. The leagues best run defense gave up only 20 yards on the ground, and three turnovers. Travis Daniels and Kendrick Lewis both picked off Matt Hasselbeck with linebacker Derrick Jonson racking up 5 tackles, a sack, and forced a fumble. The defense has been playing lights out as of late even though they still seem susceptible to the pass. Coach Romeo Crennel has changed the entire complexion of the Chief defense, making them one of the most feared to play in the league.

A fantastic effort put forth yesterday will hopefully allow the momentum to continue as the Chargers victory has kept them hot on the heals of the Chiefs. Check back later in the week for the preview of Chiefs and Broncos.
