Boise State-Utah Sate Preview

Here it is, the last ever game playing as a member of the WAC.  Unfortunately for Boise State (10-1), they will be leaving with a sour taste in their mouth.  Against Nevada last week, Boise States dreams and aspirations were crushed as they fell to the Wolf Pack 34-31 in overtime. In the first half it was all Boise State as they jumped on Nevada leading 24-7 at halftime. But after that it was all Nevada and with a little help from two missed field goals, Nevada was able to pull out the upset. Utah State (4-7) on the other hand has not played in two weeks and in their last game they were not impressive. Against Idaho, the Aggies were only able to muster up 242 total yards in a 28-6 loss.

Boise State doesn’t have a lot to play for this weekend as they are out of contention for a BCS bowl game, but knowing coach Petersen as well as the Boise State teams as a whole, they will be playing their hardest.  Kellen Moore will look to have another solid outing as he looks to improve his Heisman stock after last weeks defeat. Being that it is that it will be Senior Day this Saturday look for many of the seniors such as Titus Young, and Austin Pettis to get extensive playing time as it will be the last time ever playing in front of a home crowd here in Boise.  Utah State has never really presented a challenge to Boise State in the past, but as last weekend can show upsets can happen if you don’t bring your A game.

Utah State will look to pull off the improbable upset as they look to try and defeat Boise State at home. This year has not the been the best year for the Aggies but as their week one game against Oklahoma showed, they can compete with the big boys.  Utah State will be led by Quarterback Diondre Borel as he will be playing his last game as an Aggie.  While Utah State is not eligible to play in a bowl this year, you know they will be playing hard as they try to beat the beast known as Boise State.

Being that it is the last game the Broncos will ever play as a member of the WAC, Boise State will want to go out with a bang. Utah State does not have the physical tools as well as talent to compete with the Broncos and that is why I predict Boise State will win 40-3 sending the seniors off right as well as leaving the WAC with a convincing win.
