Colts vs Cowboys Preview
Posted By Gyasmine On Dec 3 2010 @ 3:57 am In Indianapolis Colts | No Comments
The Colts still hold first place in the AFC South even though the last few outings by Indianapolis have not exemplified first place performances after losing three of the last four games. Sunday’s game against the struggling Cowboys is a match-up of pride verses playoff contention.
With only five games remaining in the regular season, the play of Peyton Manning and the Colts have been uncharacteristic in comparison to their 2008 and 2009 seasons where they won twenty-three consecutive regular-season wins. Peyton has also had his share of hiccups this season, having thrown nine interceptions in the past four games.
Dallas has experienced heart break when their Pro-Bow quarterback Tony Romo suffered a broken collar bone and will be out for the rest of season with no chance of playoffs. Their back-up quarterback John Kitna hasn’t been able to keep them afloat by losing four of six games since Romo’s injury. In addition to their leader succumbing to injury, the Cowboy’s head coach Wade Phillips was fired in the midst of their turmoil. Their interim head coach and offensive coordinator Jason Garrett has Dallas on his shoulders as they visit Lucas Oil Stadium.
They keys for an Indianapolis victory is increased protection from the offensive line for Manning in the pocket as well as the continuance of solid play of Blair White and Jacob Tamme.
The Colts face the Cowboys at home Sunday at 4:15 pm (EST).
