Pittsburgh defeats Rider 87-68

Pittsburgh had four players that scored in double figures. Ashton Gibbs and Brad Wanamaker led the charge scoring 16 points apiece. Sophomore Dante Taylor scored 12 and senior Gilbert Brown had 11 points. The Panthers showed why they are the deepest team in the country. 10 players scored in the game, as well as played at least 10 minutes.

Pittsburgh plays Delaware State before the big showdown against Tennessee on December 11. If the Panthers get by Tennessee we might see them be the number one team in the country when they host Connecticut in the Big East opener on December 27.

I highly doubt that Duke will lose before the game between Connecticut and Pittsburgh because of the teams they play. They host Bradley, Saint Louis and Elon. Ohio State has six home games during that time. The only team that may give them any trouble is South Carolina on December 18.

Pittsburgh (9-0) has a chance to be 13-0 before the Big East opener. They only left the state of Pennsylvania once this season and that was for the 2K Sports Coachers vs. Cancer tournament where they defeated Maryland and Texas.
