Final Score: NY Knicks (12-9) – 116 Toronto Raptors (8-12) – 99
Another thirty point plus game from Amar’e Stoudemire lifts the Knicks over the Raptors for their fourth straight win in a row. The raptors had absolutely no answer for the well rounded play and bench production for NY today. Landry Fields continues his outstanding play with fifteen and ten to give him some more leverage as the leagues leading rebounder amongst guards. Shawne Williams has been another positive surprise within the last two games. With Turiaf remaining sidelined for the last few weeks, other guys such as Williams have been given a chance to prove themselves. Williams certainly did just that having scored double figures within just over twenty minutes in each of the last two games.
Tomorrow night the Knicks have a rematch with Kevin Love and the Minnesota Timberwolves who embarrassed them last time around when Love grabbed 31 boards and came from behind to beat the Knicks. Knicks will look to contain Love and Beasley while hopefully taking advantage of their depth while exploiting the T-wolves lack of depth.
Today Allan Houston compared the arrival of Stoudemire to that of Patrick Ewing. According to Realgm.com He had this to say.
“To me, he has had as much impact on this franchise as Patrick,” Houston said. “The timing, the circumstances, his personality and demeanor, leadership, all wrapped up — given his talent — is the impact Patrick had when he came.”
“What he’s done is brought in a presence: ‘I’ll take the burden on my shoulders. I’ll take the criticism. I’ll take the good with the bad. I’m going to be the one — if people put it on me, I’m OK with that.’ ”
