Say it isn’t so but Dallas goes into Indy and beats up the Colts…

Alright I did not call this win as I neglected a pre-game blog but I saw it coming and the Dallas Cowboys did just that, went into Indianapolis and beat up what is now a pretty beat up Indy squad. Wait a second, how about them Cowboys?. The game was not the prettiest but it did have excitement written all over it as the Cowboys came out victorious 38-35 in overtime. You can say it was see-saw to some degree as everyone had to watch Peyton Manning do his usual 4th quarter heroics and bring the Colts back from the dead to win, BUT, it was not to be and Dallas wins…go Cowboys!!!!!!
Dallas played a sound game but it comes down to turnovers, Manning throws another 4 interceptions which result in 20 Dallas points. I can’t say the Dallas defense played great as Manning threw for over 350 yards but it was the 4 INT’s that sealed the deal and kudos to Dallas quarterback Jon Kitna for doing what he had to do to move the ball offensively and putting points on the scoreboard for the Cowboys.
What Dallas did do well was control the clock, time of possession was 40:00 minutes for the Boys and an awesome running game by both running backs Choice and Jones allowed the Cowboys to hold onto the ball and the clock and keep the Dallas offense on the field to keep the Cowboys in the lead and or not far behind to eventually get the win. Offensively Dallas tight end Jason Witten had his usual key catches on important downs to move the chains and keep the offense on the field.
Defensively Dallas had the 4 interceptions as mentioned but no sacks and Manning threw for over 350 yards so well I would like to give my game ball to the defense I just can’t and right now am having trouble deciding on who to give the game ball to. Dallas secondary had some nice tipped balls, Sean Lee had 2 INT’s and one off a nice tip by Jenkins but still giving up over 350 yards in the air does not warrant the game ball to the defense.
Dallas field goal kicker David Buehler had 3 FG’s and the most important being the winner, Tashard Choice had a great game on the ground so there it is, my game ball goes to both Buehler and Choice. If anyone would like to give the game ball to anyone else, please do let me know, I am as usual listening.
In general a very exciting game, one that could be quite detrimental to the Colts well the Boys continue to play the role of the spoiler. I think there should be a super hero called ‘the spoiler’ albeit not one that one team/player would want to be very long as in Cowboys Nation we are used to being winners and winners we will be (just not this year-had to throw that in there).
So Cowboys win, they do as a note lose rookie wide receiver Dez Bryant for likely the season which really hurts but if they can continue to play football like they did today they will win their share of ball games and certainly give the fans their money worth. I think new Head Coach Jason Garrett is allowing them to have fun and play football, something Wade Phillips was clearly not being successful in doing, makes me wonder if Phillips was fired earlier, maybe the Cowboys could of still been in the hunt. Oh well, one game at a time and this one I will say I was on the edge of my seat as I am sure all Colt and Cowboy fans were.
See ya’all soon and as always comments, questions, concerns……Philly coming to town….
