As week 13 winds down, Buffalo Bills fans are left wondering “what happened”? in their 38-14 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. I can sum up this game with three categories; The Good, The Bad and The Very Ugly.
The Good: It’s hard to really point out anything good from this game, however, we should give some credit to Drayton Florence for his 2 interceptions. One of which was returned for a touchdown that gave Buffalo an early 7-0 lead. Florence’s first career touchdown was also Buffalo’s first interception return for a score since Donte Whitner’s on Sept. 20, 2009, a streak of 25 games. As I stated in my last blog, I never want to see anyone get hurt, but when Arthur Moats drove Brett Favre to the ground, I couldn’t help hoping that perhaps we would contribute to the end of of Favre’s 297 consecutive starts and perhaps his career.
The Bad: I won’t blame the offensive line or Ryan Fitzpatrick himself for his terrible play, I’ll only blame his beard. He’s has to start trimming that crumb catcher because it’s just getting out of control. I can only assume that he is playing Santa in the local parade or making a few extra dollars at the mall.
The Very Ugly: Let’s start with the score of 38-14. I was able to do some vacuuming, put up some Christmas lights and walk the dogs during the game. It’s never fun to watch a blow out of this magnitude but I was glad that I didn’t have to sit through another nail-biter, sort of. I can go into great detail about Leodis McKelvin, Bills rush defense and the turnovers but we’ll just store those in the “Pain Closet” and hope we don’t have to open it next week when the Browns come to town.
