Colts vs Titans Preview

A question that has been asked around the NFL is “should Indianapolis panic?” The Colts have lost four of five games, most
recently coming off of a three game losing streak.

Indianapolis must pull up their boot straps to keep their play-off hopes alive. They face the Tennessee Titans on Thursday Night Football at 8:20 p.m. (EST).
With the loss against the Cowboys last Sunday, the Colts lose their first place tie with the Jaguars who now sit on top of the AFC South
all by their lonesome, holding a record of 7-5.

Due to injuries from some of the Colt’s most reliable players, Peyton Manning is using offensive weapons that are rookies or new to
the Colts’ squad.  The first few games after the loss of tight end Dallas Clark, wide receivers  Anthony Gonzales and Austin Collie as well as
running back Joseph Addai, Peyton and the new offensive core seemed to be moving quite smoothly with Jacob Tamme and Blair White becoming  household names.

But the lack of productivity and cohesion last Sunday against the Cowboys showed that Peyton definitely has not had ample time
with his new guys. He threw to his team mates in double coverage and seemed to be off regarding reading the routes his wide receivers and tight ends were
running. Manning threw four interceptions in back to back games and had not done so since his rookie year.

In order for the Colts to strive for victory against the Titans, Peyton Manning’s interception must be minimal to even give the team an opportunity to score against the Titans defense. In his career against the Titans, Manning has only thrown 13 interceptions in 17 games. From a defensive standpoint, Dwight Freeney and company must aggravate Quarterback Kerry Collins as well as contain Chris Johnson, who will be hungry to break out his performance funk.
With a victory against the Titans, Indianapolis must finish strong the last three games of the regular season in order for any hope of play-off contention.
