The 49ers go back to Alex Smith for rematch against the Seahawks….what does this mean to their season?

It was announced on Tuesday that Alex Smith will get the start on Sunday against division rival Seahawks.
Mike Singletary announced this on his regular radio show. He also went to say that he is not ruling out that Troy Smith will not see any playing time again this season. This could been seen two ways; he is either trying to appease both quarterbacks, or he will have a revolving door at the starting QB position. Neither reason is very good.
What does this mean for the 49ers? It means that they may have a different starting QB each week because, as Singletary said “I’m going to go with the guy I figure will give us the best opportunity to win”. If you look at record alone, the QB that has won the most for you is Troy Smith, with a record of 3-2.
I think that if Alex Smith does keep the starting job for the last 4 games of the season, he will probably play pretty good football, because these 4 games are going to be a live audition for any team who wants to pick him up after he is released at the end of the year.
