The Utah Jazz just can’t get a break, they had their 7 game win streak ended by Dallas who was also on a win streak. Utah won it’s last game to get back into the winning column only to face the Heat last night who were coming in on a 5 game win streak. Given the Jazz recent luck when facing a streaking opponent what do you think happened? Miami beat Utah 111-98 to push their current win streak to 6 games. Utah fell back into the loosing column, not only did they suffer a loss but the Thunder won tonight to close the gap in the division to 1 game!! The Jazz were in this game for 3 quarters, than Miami pulled away decisively to start the 4th quarter. The last time these two teams played it was the beginning of the season, Paul Milsap scored a career high 46 points to lead the Jazz to an overtime victory. In that victory it looked as if Utah was more of a “team,” this time the Heat were a much more cohesive unit. Miami outscored Utah in the first 2 quarters, but by very slim margins(6 points). Utah won the 3rd quarter, outscoring Miami by 7!! Miami responded by outscoring Utah by 14 points in the 4th quarter, so it was an extremely close game until the 4th!! Miami led the battle of the benches, Miami got 20 points from their bench and Utah only got 10. Every member of Utah’s starting 5 scored in double figures, Al Jefferson led the way with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Deron Williams had 21 points and 12 assists, Paul Milsap had 18, Raja Bell finished with 11, and Andrei Kirilenko finished with 13 points. Miami’s “Big 3″ combined for 75 points on the night!! Things don’t get easier for the Jazz, coming into Utah on Friday will be Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic! Will Utah be able to bounce back from a disappointing loss and avoid another?? Or is this the beginning of a slide for the Jazz??
