Bills Win, Moving Further From Last In The League

The Buffalo Bills have their third win of the season. Unfortunately for the Cleveland Browns, the 13-6 loss has dropped them to 5 and 8, ending their hope for a record over .500. It was exactly what I needed after Buffalo got destroyed by Minnesota last week.

For the first time this year the Bills defense held their opponents under 10 points! More impressively they held the Browns to only 105 yards rushing and 86 yards passing. Although Buffalo only put up 13 points, offensively, yards were easy to come by on Sunday. The majority of the yards came from Fred Jacksons 112 on the ground, and Ryan “The Beard” Fitzpatrick contributing 49 yards rushing and 142 passing.
I’ve noticed in the last few games that Buffalo have used their tight ends a little more. I know that David Nelson is no Pete Metzelaars, but in my opinion if Nelson can rock the Mullet like Big Pete did, we might have another offensive weapon the Bills can add to their arsenal.

The Mullet

With this win, Buffalo is moving further away from getting the number one pick in the upcoming draft. With the outstanding performances from ‘The Beard’, I can only assume that Buffalo won’t pick a quarterback anyway. So why not build up their offensive line and give ‘The Beard’ another shot. Something to point out, since the Bills went winless for their first 8 games they have won 3 out 5 games. As I see it, Cleveland beat New Orleans, so we must be better than the Saints, and if we’re better than the Saints than we could easily have won last years Super Bowl. O.K, maybe not, but a Bills fan can dream can’t he?!?

Side Note: I stated in my last blog that I was looking for a few things for todays game.

-bounce back for Fitzpatrick. With a beard like his, how could he not?

-hey McKelvin, it’s not a loaf of bread you’re carrying. Great job today with the interception.

-with guys like Wood and Wang on your team, how can you go wrong? Didn’t really notice them but still want their jerseys.

-Spiller time? let’s hope. Got his hands on the ball, would still like to see more though.

-the announcers talking about how Jackson is from Coe College and Fitzpatrick from Harvard. Of course they did, they always do. But did you know that Marv Levy not only attended Coe College but also was Assistant Coach between 1953-54. Miss ya Marv!
