The Miami Heat spent the weekend in California, but this was not a vacation.  This was a business trip and the Heat definitely handled their business.  Friday night in Oakland they exploded in the second half and smashed Golden State 106-84 on their home court.  Then on Saturday they traveled down the road a piece to take on the Sacramento Kings.  The result was remarkably similar as they took down the Kings 104-83.  Miami has now won eight in a row, but if they want to make it nine, they will have to beat a quality New Orleans team tonight.  This game, however, will be played in Miami.  The Hornets beat the Heat in the first meeting between these two teams.  The key to the recent success has been the play of Dwyane Wade and LeBron James.

Wade was pretty much unstoppable over the weekend.  On Friday against the Warriors he poured in 34 points.  Dwyane also led Miami in rebound, grabbing 9 boards.  Then on Saturday he led the team in scoring once again as he dropped 36 points on the Kings.  During these two games his shooting was excellent.  He went 27/43 from the field.  Those numbers look like Drew Brees.  If he continues to imitate the Saints QB, Miami should be able to avenge their earlier loss to the Hornets.

LeBron continues to be the quarterback of this Heat team.  James scored 25 points in both games over the weekend.  His biggest contribution to the Heat is his all around play.  On Friday he had 9 assists, then on Saturday he grabbed 10 rebounds.  He does whatever the game calls for and the chemistry that seems to be building between him and Wade is just what Miami fans have been hoping for.  Tonight’s game should be a little closer than the last two, but the Heat will win, 98-91.
